1. General

By engaging Universal Designs, Inc. (“UDI”), you acknowledge and agree to these Terms and Conditions. These terms apply to all design consultations, materials selections, design services, and communications via text, email, or other means.

2. Communication

Text and email correspondence are considered official communication. Please note:

  • Replies during business hours (Monday–Friday, 9AM–5PM CST).
  • Text messaging is used for quick updates or scheduling only — not for detailed design discussions or approvals.
  • Design approvals, estimates, and contractual agreements must be confirmed in writing via email.

3. Payments

  • Invoices are due upon receipt unless otherwise stated.
  • Work and scheduling may not begin until payment is received.
  • Design fees, consultation fees, and deposits are non-refundable once work has commenced.
  • Custom orders and furnishings require full payment prior to ordering.

4. Cancellations and Rescheduling

  • Meetings canceled or rescheduled with less than 24 hours’ notice may incur a rescheduling fee.
  • Project cancellations must be made in writing. Any design time, purchased materials, or services rendered prior to cancellation will be billed accordingly.

5. Design Ownership

All drawings, renderings, and design concepts remain the property of Universal Designs, Inc. until the project is paid in full. Designs may not be reproduced, copied, or shared with third parties without written consent.

6. Purchasing and Pricing

  • All furnishings and materials are sold at UDI’s published or quoted rates, which may include markups.
  • UDI’s trade discounts, sourcing methods, and vendor pricing are proprietary and confidential.
  • Once approved, orders cannot be canceled or refunded, as many items are custom or made-to-order.

7. Contractor and Vendor Disclaimer

Universal Designs, Inc. is not responsible for the performance, workmanship, or timeliness of independent contractors, vendors, or tradespeople. Recommendations are based on experience, but selection and hiring decisions remain the client’s responsibility.

8. Liability

UDI shall not be held liable for delays, damages, or losses caused by suppliers, shipping, acts of nature, or circumstances beyond reasonable control.

9. Photography and Marketing

With client permission, UDI may photograph completed spaces for portfolio and marketing use. Client privacy will always be respected.

10. Acceptance

Continued communication or payment for services constitutes acceptance of these terms. These Terms and Conditions are subject to change without notice.
