Evanston Restoration

Originally built by a Chicago-area lumber baron, this remarkable Prairie-style residence was thoughtfully restored to preserve its architectural heritage while introducing modern comfort and functionality.

Rich wood paneling, coffered ceilings, built-in seating, and original millwork celebrate the homeโ€™s craftsmanship, while restored copper and tile roofing and imported Murano glass chandeliers highlight its historic character.

The kitchen was completely reconfigured and remodeled to support modern living and entertaining, featuring custom cabinetry, a large center island, professional appliances, and integrated refrigeration drawers. New windows and carefully integrated lighting bring natural light into the space while maintaining harmony with the homeโ€™s original materials.

All five bathrooms were fully renovated with refined finishes, and the second floor was reconfigured to include a dedicated laundry room. Mechanical systems and exterior elements were updated as well.

Because the home is over a century old, specialized environmental precautions were incorporated during demolition and construction. Professional environmental remediation services were engaged to safely remove a large antique mirror installation and to maintain clean construction conditions during selective demolition, protecting both the integrity of the home and the health of those working within it.
